I just couldn't not share these absolutely amazing articles from my Grandma's magazine 'Woman' dated 30th April 1949. The entire magazine is catered towards the typical housewife of the 1940s of course - washing, tidying, baking, taking care of the children etc - all the stuff you would expect. But it isn't until you read it that you fully appreciate how different my upbringing was to that of my grandparents. I'm going to share a few now.
These articles are absolutely amazing and I feel so lucky to have been able to read them. They are a true example of how much women's lives and expectations of women have (or more scarily) haven't changed over time. It's fascinating.
